The TaylorMade Qi35 is the most adjustable and, in Golf Monthly’s head-to-head, the longest. The Ping G440 Max launches highest and is the most forgiving on thin strikes. The Callaway Elyte spins least, flies lowest, and is now the cheapest of the three by about $100.

Prices are from PGA TOUR Superstore and Callaway’s own site; Golf Monthly found the Elyte as low as $319.99 on Amazon. All three have since been succeeded or joined by 2026 models (TaylorMade Qi4D, Callaway Quantum), which is exactly why they’re this cheap.
TaylorMade Qi35
The standard Qi35 is built from five materials — chromium carbon, steel, aluminum, tungsten, and titanium — around a fourth-generation Carbon Twist Face, with movable sole weights that let you shift the center of gravity. In its neutral weight setting, Golf Monthly puts its MOI at about 9,000; slide it forward and it drops to about 8,100 but cut roughly 250 rpm of spin for a lower, more penetrating flight. In their test against the G440 Max, the reviewer hit the Qi35 14 yards farther in total (12 more in carry). One tester’s swing, not a lab, but it matches the Qi35’s lower-spinning reputation. If you want maximum forgiveness instead, the 10K-MOI Qi35 Max is the sibling to look at.

Ping’s G440 Max is a 460cc head with a Carbonfly Wrap carbon crown, a lighter “Free Hosel” design, and a 29-gram back weight with three positions for draw, neutral, or fade bias. Golf Monthly’s tester saw about a degree more launch than the previous G430 Max, and found it the more forgiving of the pair on strikes low on the face. It comes in 9°, 10.5°, and 12°. The trade-off is spin: it launches higher and spins more than the Qi35 or Elyte, which is exactly what a slower swing needs and exactly what a faster one doesn’t.

The Elyte is built around Callaway’s Ai 10x Face, which Callaway says has ten times more control points than the previous Ai Smart Face, plus a thermoforged carbon crown and a 13g movable weight. Lofts are 9°, 10.5°, and 12° (12° right-handed only). In Golf Monthly’s G440 Max comparison it spun less and flew lower, and the reviewer said he couldn’t split the two on overall performance. The Elyte family also includes the Elyte X (draw-leaning), the Elyte Max Fast (lightweight, high launch), and the Elyte Triple Diamond for better players.

Which One Should You Buy?
Buy the Ping G440 Max if your drives come out low or you miss low on the face; the extra launch and spin will carry the ball farther for you, not shorter. Buy the Callaway Elyte if you already hit it high and it balloons, and you want to save about $100 doing it. Is the Qi35 longer than the G440 Max?
In Golf Monthly’s head-to-head, yes: the tester hit the Qi35 14 yards farther in total. That’s one golfer’s swing, and much of the gap comes from the Qi35’s lower spin, so a slower swing may see the opposite.
Is the Callaway Elyte still worth buying in 2026?
Yes, especially at around $350. It’s been replaced at the top of Callaway’s range by the Quantum, but the Ai 10x Face tech is only a year old and the price has dropped hard.
Which is the most forgiving?
The G440 Max, particularly on strikes low on the face. If forgiveness is the only thing that matters, also consider the Qi35 Max, TaylorMade’s 10K-MOI version.
