Titleist GT2 vs. GT3 vs. GT4 — Which GT Driver Fits You (and Is GTS Worth the Extra)?

The short answer: the GT2 is the forgiving one, with high launch, the deepest center of gravity, and the biggest-looking head. The GT3 is for consistent strikers who want to shape the ball, using a five-position sliding weight. The GT4 is the spin-killer, a smaller 430cc head for fast swings. Titleist replaced all three with the GTS line in June 2026, which is why the GT family is now discounted.

All three share the same core technology, introduced in August 2024: an ATI 425 titanium face, a titanium speed ring around the face, and Titleist’s “Seamless Thermoform” crown made from a polymer about a third the mass of titanium. The weight that crown saves goes where each model needs it.

Titleist GT2: The One Most Golfers Should Start With

Titleist calls the GT2 a “high-launch, low-spin bomber.” It has the deepest center of gravity in the family, which is what makes it the most stable on off-center hits. The head is longer front-to-back, with a slightly shallower face that looks confidence-inspiring at address. Adjustability is simple: one interchangeable rear weight, mainly for swing weight. If you don’t already know you need less spin or more shot-shaping, this is the GT to start with.

Titleist GT3: For Players Who Want Control

The GT3 is a more compact, pear-shaped head with a taller face and Titleist’s five-position CG Track, which sits closer to the face than on older models. Slide the weight heel-ward (H1, H2) to fight a slice, toe-ward (T1, T2) to fight a hook, or leave it neutral. It gives up some of the GT2’s forgiveness for that control, so it rewards golfers who hit the center of the face often.

Titleist GT4: The Low-Spin Specialist

The GT4 is built to “shed spin,” in Titleist’s words. Its smaller 430cc head has two weight ports: put the 11g weight forward for the lowest launch and spin, or swap it to the back for a bit more of both. It only comes in 8°, 9°, and 10°. It’s the right driver for fast swings that spin the ball too much, and the wrong one for most everyone else.

Most golfers who think they want a GT3 or GT4 would hit a GT2 farther. Pick the model that fits your misses, not your handicap.

GT or the New GTS?

Titleist launched the GTS2, GTS3, and GTS4 on June 11, 2026, at $699 each. Per GolfWRX’s launch report, the GTS roughly doubles the lightweight polymer used in the head (from 13g to 26g), which frees weight for more stability. It also raises the tail on the GTS2 and GTS3 for aerodynamics and adds a “Speed Sync” face aimed at protecting ball speed on high-face strikes. The GTS4 also grows to a full 460cc.
