LPGA 2026: Europe’s Solheim Cup Win, Korda vs. Ryu, and What’s Left

LPGA 2026: Europe’s Solheim Cup Win, Korda vs. Ryu, and What’s Left

The LPGA’s 2026 season has had two clear stars and one big team result. Nelly Korda and Ryu Hae-ran split four of the five majors, and Europe took the Solheim Cup back from the U.S. in the Netherlands. With the Asia swing starting and the CME Group Tour Championship seven weeks away, here’s where the women’s game stands and what to look for.

The short version

  • Europe beat the U.S. 15–13 at the Solheim Cup (Sept. 11–13, Bernardus Golf, Netherlands).
  • Linn Grant (Europe) and Alison Lee (USA) both went a perfect 4–0–0.
  • Nelly Korda won the Chevron and the U.S. Women’s Open. Ryu Hae-ran won the KPMG Women’s PGA and the Evian.
  • Japan’s Shiho Kuwaki won the AIG Women’s Open for her first LPGA title.
  • The season ends at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Fla., the week of Nov. 22.

The Solheim Cup: Europe Takes It Back

The U.S. won the last Solheim Cup in Virginia in 2024. This time Anna Nordqvist’s European team beat Angela Stanford’s Americans 15–13 at Bernardus Golf, the first Solheim Cup held in the Netherlands.

Europe won it without much from one of its usual leaders: Céline Boutier went 0–4. On the U.S. side, Angel Yin had only just returned from a two-month injury layoff in late August and managed half a point. Alison Lee’s perfect week was the American highlight.

Korda’s two majors took her past 18 career LPGA wins and gave her the first U.S. Women’s Open of her career, the biggest title she was missing. Ryu won back-to-back majors in the summer, KPMG then Evian, and is the obvious rival to Korda for Player of the Year. Kuwaki’s win at the AIG was the year’s big surprise and her first LPGA victory.

What to Watch

  • Korda vs. Ryu for Player of the Year. Both have two majors; the Asia swing and the CME finale will likely decide it.
  • The Asia swing. Shanghai, Korea, Malaysia and Japan run back to back in October and early November. The Korea and Japan stops are home games for a big share of the tour’s top players.
  • The CME Group Tour Championship. The season-long Race to the CME Globe ends here, the weekend before Thanksgiving, with one of the biggest winner’s checks in the women’s game.
